Over 30 commercial REALTORS® recently saw first-hand some of the unique office and retail space opportunities in downtown Winnipeg.
The first annual Downtown Trends tour showcased a mix of vacant
and leased spaces in the Exchange
District, at Portage and Main, on
Waterfront Drive, and Portage
Avenue and Graham Avenue on
Friday, November 2.
The tour also marked the release of the new Downtown Trends market research report, which highlights current market information in the city centre.
Organized by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, CentreVenture Development Corporation, Destination Winnipeg, the Exchange District BIZ and WinnipegREALTORS®, the goal of the report and tour is to give existing and future downtown tenants, as well as REALTORS®, key data to assist them in making informed decisions about downtown commercial and retail spaces.
“We want to arm potential downtown tenants with relevant market data so they can inform their clients who are considering moving to or setting up shop downtown,” said Stefano Grande, Downtown BIZ executive director. “The stats in this report show there are some great opportunities downtown.”
The event began with a presentation on the 15th floor of the Commodity Exchange Tower and included the Power Building, Todd Hunter Mitchell Coffee Company, the Curry Building, the funky office of Guppy Design on Graham, loft office space on Bannatyne, Connect Four Clothing on McDermot, and ended with a reception at CentreVenture’s renovated office space on Main Street.
“Investment in the downtown is on the rise and it is clearly evident that momentum toward effective downtown revitalization is increasing,” said Ross McGowan, CentreVenture’s president and CEO. “CentreVenture remains committed to working with our public and private sector partners to continue to accelerate the momentum.
“The Trends report is a tool that provides up-to-date information on the downtown and illustrates to potential tenants and investors that downtown is the place to do business,” he added.
