At the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board’s Annual General Meeting held on March 20, Michael Froese, Broker & Managing Partner at Royal LePage Prime Real Estate, was elected as the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board’s 2025-2026 President of the Board of Directors.
“I’m pleased to welcome our 2025-2026 President of the Board of Directors, Michael Froese, Broker and Managing Partner at Royal LePage Prime Real Estate,” said Marina R. James, CEO of the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board. “Michael grew up in a family where real estate was a way of life and that helped shape his path into where he is today, as a successful Broker, Managing Partner, and now, President of the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board.”
On the back of a strong work ethic and sharp business skills, Froese started as a professional, licensed REALTOR® in 2007, and became a Broker in 2011, and Managing Partner in 2015. In 2019, Froese won the Brokerage of the Year Award for Royal LePage across Canada.
“As a second-generation REALTOR®, I grew up around the business and real estate isn’t just my career — it’s in my DNA,” said Michael Froese, 2025-2026 President of the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board. “I’m fortunate to have been mentored by my dad who was also a Broker/Owner who held leadership roles at the Manitoba Real Estate Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association. I’m proud of the award-winning brokerage I’ve built while working alongside some of the best professional REALTORS® in the industry, and now is my time to step up and give back through this leadership role as President.”
Froese has been active at the Committee level within the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board since 2013, with participation on the Finance Committee, Professional Standards Committee, Winnipeg Regional Real Estate News Committee, Investigative Committee, MLS® Committee, Technology Committee, Nominating Committee, Member Services Committee, Executive Committee, Governance Committee, and the Board of Directors. Over this time, he was Chair of the MLS®, Technology and Members Services Committees, and Vice Chair of the Investigative and MLS® Committees.
“I believe that strong, engaged leadership is key to making sure we move forward the right way,” said Froese. “At the end of the day, there is one thing that will drive me as President, and that is working to make this industry better, one person at a time.”
Froese becomes President where, over the last year, the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board’s market region saw its second-best year in dollar volume, reaching over $5.5 billion in total transactions. In 2024, the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board prioritized municipal advocacy efforts toward increasing housing supply and infill residential development, improving the efficiency of permitting processes, and for building the infrastructure required to support communities.
“We’re fortunate to be in one of the most stable and reasonably priced real estate markets in Canada,” said Froese.
Froese is enthusiastic about what the year ahead has in store as the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board’s market region continues to be one of the most affordable in Canada.
