This week, Manitoba celebrated a significant occasion in the real estate calendar: REALTOR® Week, officially proclaimed by the Manitoba government from November 8-22. This dedicated period acknowledges the vital role REALTORS® play as community leaders, guiding Manitobans through some of the most critical financial decisions of their lives. The contributions of Manitoba REALTORS® to the economy are immense, fueling a multi-billion-dollar industry that supports over 6,600 jobs and enhances the provincial GDP by more than one per cent.
In honour of this special week, the Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA) launched the inaugural Manitoba REALTOR® Expo (MRX), a one-day conference designed to bring real estate professionals together. On November 21, the event offered a unique platform for networking and learning, featuring the latest tools, strategies, and insights from industry experts and community leaders.
We were thrilled to welcome the Premier of Manitoba, the Honourable Wab Kinew, for remarks on Building Manitoba’s Future: A Vision for Affordable and Accessible Housing. Keynote Speaker, Rick Denley, presented Reinvent Yourself: Personal, Positive Growth Through Any Mess, Mission or Movement. REALTOR® Daphne Shepherd, 2024-2025 President of the Winnipeg Regional Real Estate Board and MREA Board of Directors, spoke on The Mindset Revolution: A Tangible Blueprint for Resilience in the Real Estate Industry. Jennifer Jones-Mitchell brought attendees up to speed with How to Build Your Brand – And Why You Should, along with a presentation on How AI Empowers Real Estate Agents. Adam Rodricks inspired attendees with The Art of the Possible. Finally, REALTORS® Amber van den Broek, Glen Tosh, and Marcia Bergen joined Jamie Hall from Habitat for Humanity Manitoba on Beyond Business: The Power of Giving Back – Why Social Responsibility Matters.
Beyond their professional achievements, REALTORS® make a profound impact on their communities. They volunteer their time, spearhead fundraising campaigns, and donate to crucial causes. The Manitoba REALTORS® Shelter Foundation exemplifies this spirit of giving, partnering with shelter-related charities to ensure that every dollar raised supports life-changing initiatives. Over the past 16 years, the foundation has been committed to improving lives and addressing shelter needs across Manitoba.
In the 2024-2025 period, the Manitoba REALTORS® Shelter Foundation is proud to collaborate with Habitat for Humanity Manitoba on their largest project to date, the Pandora Avenue West Project. During REALTOR® Week, Manitoba REALTORS® presented a generous cheque of $72,593.42 to support this transformative vision. We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s fundraising successes.
Through a partnership by the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and the Manitoba Real Estate Association, The Manitoba Tipi Mitawa (MTM) is a program that continues to help First Nations families wishing to purchase their first home, by guiding and supporting them through education and financial assistance. The MTM program provides a holistic approach by supporting families through their journey to homeownership. We help families through each important step, from financial education to home maintenance training, to REALTOR® selection, and ultimately, in purchasing their first home.

Whether through donating proceeds from property sales, making one-time donations, participating in the Brian M. Collie Memorial Shelter Classic golf tournament, or joining the REALTOR® team build days, your generosity and dedication are truly inspiring.
