In 2016, Olexa Developments — based in Calgary — purchased the former Canada Packers site in Winnipeg, and envisioned the genesis of the Water Tower District. Olexa saw a tremendous opportunity to transform this 165-acre Brownfield Development, situated just four kilometres from downtown.

Roads and underground services are approximately 65% complete as of September 2023. We look forward to starting construction on a multi-family residence in early 2024”.

Olexa expects their first industrial building to be developed in 2024, and they have also partnered with Shindico on 10 acres of mutli-family land which will have over 700 rental units. In 2008, Olexa purchased 150 acres of land in CentrePort Canada and developed Brookside Business Park, where assets retained by Olexa arevalued over $85 million.
