The Plaza at Polo Park

The Plaza at Polo Park will soon be home to more than 500 new jobs. 24-7 Intouch, a Winnipeg headquartered and global leader in contact centre solutions is joining the city’s newest Winners/HomeSense at 875 St James Street.

Located in Winnipeg’s largest retail node, steps from the city’s busiest shopping center, the Plaza at Polo Park is an infill mixed use development.

Filling the majority of the first building will help maintain the current momentum and kick start development at the rest of the site.  Additionally, 24-7’s Intouch tenancy will create a large daytime population on site, providing built in customers for other tenants.

875 St. James Street was built to suit for Target, meaning a substantial amount of work is needed to accommodate multiple tenants. A new vestibule with an escalator and elevator is being constructed to service Winners, HomeSense, and the remaining future tenant(s) while 24-7 Intouch will utilize the existing vestibule. The red paneling will be removed. More glazing and cladding will be installed. The result will be an attractive multi-tenant building with strong tenants that support the success of the development.

HomeSense’s newest location will be its third in Winnipeg, and the only one in the Polo Park area. Winners will enjoy the benefits of co-locating with its sister company HomeSense, when it relocates from Ellice Avenue to a newer space.

24-7 Intouch has 14 global campuses, and 875 St. James Street will be its 15th. The 55,000 square foot space is expected to be completed in mid-2018. The Company was founded in Winnipeg and has grown significantly over the last two years. “Winnipeg is our home, and we are very excited to be a part of the growing business community at Polo Park,” said Greg Fettes, Co-Founder & CEO of 24-7 Intouch. “We are committed to investing in our city and plan to create more than 500 new jobs over the next year.

As Canada’s 8th largest city with a population over 810,000, Winnipeg continues to grow at a consistent rate. Retail sales increased by 3.6% in the first 10 months and 2017, and the average household income in Winnipeg increased by 3.3% in 2017. The demographics around the Plaza at Polo Park support a wide range of retail business. Households within a 10-minute drive time spend an average of $19,265 per year on food, clothing and recreation expenses. Further developing the site will bring new businesses to Winnipeggers, while creating jobs for the community.
