Reg Black

Born and raised on the family farm just north of Beausejour. Currently reside on a couple acres just outside of town with Myrna, my wife of 30 years, and our dog Sophie. During our great Manitoba winters, I enjoy attending the odd Winnipeg Jets game, curling once a week, one or two bonspiels and snowmobiling. In summer we enjoy various activities on the waterways within the Lac du Bonnet recreation area. Golf, when possible, is something I also enjoy.

Over the past couple of decades, I have had the pleasure of being involved with many different community groups and organizations. In 2004 I was the Co-Chair of the Manitoba Provincial Scott Tournament of Hearts and was Co-Chair of the 2006 Manitoba Winter Games. Recognized in 2007 as a co-winner of the Beausejour - Brokenhead Community Volunteer of the Year Award. Served on the Board of the Beausejour Brokenhead Development Corporation for many years. Currently the President of the Brokenhead River Community Foundation.

Began my career in Real Estate in January 1995. Became an Alternate Broker in 1997, the same year our independent firm joined the Century 21 system. Obtained the Market Value Appraiser Designation in August 2000. On August 1, 2005 became Broker of Century 21 Sun Country Realty and also the Co-Owner along with my wife Myrna. Together we are working together managing and growing the company.

Over the past number of years, I have been involved in organized real estate. I have served on the Member Services Committee of the Winnipeg Real Estate Board. Served as a Director to the Manitoba Real Estate Association for 3 years before accepting a 4-year term on its Executive serving as the President in 2007. While President of the Association we established the Manitoba Real Estate Association Shelter Foundation and was recognised as a Builder in December 2007.

In April 2009 I began a 2-year term as the Regional Director for Manitoba on the Canadian Real Estate Association and was elected to a second term in April 2011. While with the National Association I served two terms as the Chair of the National Ad Campaign Committee and one year as chair of the Governance Committee. Subsequently served once again on the Canadian Real Estate Association's National Ad Campaign Committee in 2016 and 2017 and currently am a member of the CREA Governance Committee. Also, currently sit as a member of the Manitoba Real Estate Association Claims Committee.
