On March 2, 2018, the inaugural President’s Gala celebrated the achievements and accomplishments of our best and brightest members.
Surrounded by the opulent decor found in the York room of the RBC Convention Centre, members of WinnipegREALTORS®, along with colleagues and friends, gathered for an exciting night of dancing, fine dining and celebration. The strong local real estate market evidenced in 2017 was amply demonstrated by the sheer number of award winners that night; members who should be proud of being an integral component to the on-going success of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region housing market year after year. Both individual and team awards were distributed, displaying the deep cooperative aspect of our industry.
Alongside the deserved accolades afforded to our sales winners, the evening also recognized the dedication and hard work of our committee volunteers. Board builder awards were given to several individuals, acknowledging those who have donated their time and energy to various committees and helping create a strong association, committed to the needs of its members. Bronze, silver and gold awards were presented, all denoting the amount of time spent at the volunteer level.
Industry veterans were honored with the presentation of Long-Term Service awards. With their experience and commitment, these distinguished members all contributed in no small part to elevating our association and the industry to the heights it enjoys today. Without the groundwork laid out by these members, WinnipegREALTORS® would not be able to face the challenges of a changing landscape.
The sentiment of “work hard, play hard” was in full force for the evening. Cocktails and delectable appetizers were consumed during the initial VIP reception, where colleagues and friends mingled with members in an atmosphere of camaraderie and alliance. Dresses were shown off and watches were shined as attendees caught up with old acquaintances, created new bonds and reaffirmed lasting relationships.
Guests were treated to a delicious meal of roast garlic and tomatoes bisque, boston lettuce with red currant dressing, roast chicken breast stuffed with spinach, artichokes and goat cheese glazed with a cheesy pesto sauce and capped off with vanilla bean cheesecake.
The live entertainment consisting of the Danny Kramer Band energized the dance floor, delivering lively versions of both contemporary and classic dance tunes. Even guests who tend to spectate from their tables were emboldened to hit the floor and shake it off. The band played until the wee hours, encouraged by the jovial atmosphere permeating the entire ballroom, where members enjoyed themselves and let it all loose in celebration of a successful 2017.
