Chris Dudeck — 115th WinnipegREALTORS President

WinnipegREALTORS is proud to announce Chris Dudeck as its 2018 President. He becomes WinnipegREALTORS 115th President and will lead its over 1,900 member strong industry association this year.

“I am so pleased and fortunate to have a very high caliber 12-member board of directors chaired by Chris Dudeck - a stellar volunteer leader who has committed hundreds of volunteer hours to serve our members effectively over the past several years and will do so again in 2018” said Marina R. James, CEO of WinnipegREALTORS.

“I am honoured to fulfill the role of President with its rich history of achievement and now in a fast-paced and changing business environment,” said Dudeck. “We are continually looking to enhance and improve our REALTOR® members’ ability to deliver superior service and results to their buyers and sellers. I will continue to embrace this direction and look to how we can support building better communities in the Winnipeg metropolitan region.”

Chris Dudeck, a residential Realtor, commenced his real estate career as a licensed salesperson in 1995 and 16 years later acquired his broker designation. He is currently licensed as both a Realtor and alternate broker with Coldwell Banker Preferred Real Estate, located at 1530 Taylor Avenue in Winnipeg.

Dudeck has an education background which most people would not associate with selling real estate. However if you ask him, it has been a real asset in helping him build a successful sales career and one WinnipegREALTORS has benefited from as well.

“I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba,” said Dudeck. “It has been instrumental in giving me strong analytical tools, and a solid understanding of the construction side of our industry and the condo projects which I have been directly involved in marketing for a number of years.”

What he did not say is how his education and professional experience bring about more structure and a detail-oriented plan to any process. Chris has been pivotal in his past role as chair of WinnipegREALTORS Technology Committee. In most instances, when a future leader of the association is being groomed on the Executive Committee as Treasurer and President–Elect, they tend to relinquish their other chair positions on standing committees. Not in Dudeck’s case. He chaired the Technology Committee from 2014 to 2017 and was an active participant in 2012 and 2013.

As with any volunteer leader who aspires to and assumes the office of President, there is a lead up process involved. This includes serving on various committees, task forces and industry initiatives. Dudeck has not only been heading up the Technology Committee but has been chair of the Finance Committee, the Real Estate News and Public Relations Committee, and a joint committee with the Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA) on sponsoring and building a major exhibit for the Winnipeg Home and Garden Show.

“I see myself as just one member of the WinnipegREALTORS team,” said Dudeck. “While serving as the 2018 President, our Board of Directors will concentrate on a myriad of strategic plans and actions to ensure our 115-year old organization is focused on the future and remains relevant and vital for years to come.”

Dudeck is complemented by 11 other volunteer directors.

Blair Sonnichsen of Royal LePage Dynamic Real Estate, Past-President;
Trevor Clay of Capital Commercial Real Estate Services, Commercial Division Chair.
